Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the southwestern corner of the La Casa Nueva Main Hall, ca. 1941. The room is emptied of all furniture, except that a portion of the frame for the William Workman portrait is on the wall at extreme right, to the left of which is a lamp sconce different than those now located there. Next to this at the right is the arched entrance to the Library, with the doors opened inward. At center is the lower part of the stairs, with the rows of Mexican tiles and wood and decorative iron work railing and grille. Under the stairs is the door to the courtyard, through which the outdoor light is bright against the glass. Just to the left, without bulbs, is a wall sconce. Two switchplates are under this sconce and three on the wall where the stairs begin. Part of the bare wood floor is visible at the lower part of the image. On the reverse lower left is a pencil inscription from a former museum curator, "early 1941 prior to B. B. occ. of prop." Below this in black ink is "+26 - 130 / 28 - 160." At the upper right corner in pencil is "95% / 2A / Terri." With light discoloration, the photo is in good condition.
