Description
A stereoscopic photograph of the southwest corner of the Hotel Alvarado, Westlake Park, Los Angeles, 3 October 1927. Taken from across Sixth Street next to Westlake Park, the view captures the west elevation, corner bay with a tile roofed tower, and a section of the front. Some palm trees, ivy on the lower wall of the structure, pedestrians, a bicyclist and streetcar wires and track are also of note. The view is a slightly closer version of .12 of this accession. An ink inscription on the reverse reads: "Near view of Southwest corner of / Hotel Alvarado - showing our / third floor tower rooms & ones / occupied later - right corner, third floor - / Sixth & Alvarado Sts. / Los Angeles / Mon. Oct. 3 -1927." With minor soiling, edge abrasion and browning on the reverse, the condition is good.
