Description

Color: Black; Blue; Green; Red; White A color postcard of the Southwest Musuem, ca. 1920s. The two-story museum is on the top of a hill at the right of the background. The walls are white and it has a red roof. A three-story tower is at the right and a smaller one is at the left. Across the front of the building are many arched windows. A large arched window or door is at the center of the first floor. Across the foreground is a one-story recreated adobe building called Casa De Adobe which was built as part of the museum. The adobe has a red-tile roof, white walls, a porch, and several shutter-covered windows. This building is atop a small knoll which has two flights of stone stairs at the left and right. At the base of the knoll is a stone wall. In black ink across the top is, "660: - South West Museum, Sycamore Park, Los Angeles, Cal." The name of the publisher, which was the Kashower Co., is at the left of the back. Across the top of the back are the words "POST CARD," and a square box for postage. With abrasions; creases; slightly dented corners; some surface soiling; tearing of the paper on the back; and wear on the back, the artifact is in fair condition.
