Description
SPANISH TILE COMPANY YELLOW, GREEN AND RED FLORAL DESIGN TILE
Color: Green; red; white; yellow
An encaustic concrete floor tile from the Spanish Tile Company, ca. 1929. The piece has a yellow background with a large eight-petaled floral design (identical to the design in .3) in green and red sixteen-pointed design with a white center. On the back, but so heavily eroded as to be nearly unreadable is the maker's imprint reading (see tiles .2-.3): "CALIFORNIA SPANISH TILE." While there are some scratches and other surface marks, as well as some chips on the underside, the object is in good condition.
