Spectators at a car race, Ascot Speedway, Los Angeles, 10 April 1921. There are a few women and a man turned and looking back from seats below the rough wood-defined box in which the photographer was sitting. Behind the group is a portion of the track, a covered structure on the inside guardrail with persons inside it, spectators and others thronging the infield and, in the distance, much of the grandstand on the opposite side of the track. In the distance are stands of trees and portions of mountains. At the lower left margin is the ink inscription, "Sun. April 10, 1921. Los Angeles." On the reverse is a pencil inscription, "Auto Racing 1921 Los Angeles 11 pcs." With slight paper curvature, minor yellowing, and a small line of acid burn on the reverse, the condition is good overall.
