Description
Spectators before a car race, Ascot Speedway, Los Angeles, 10 April 1921. The photographer sat in a rough wood-defined box in the grandstand and captures some spectators sitting and other standing before the race. Portions of cars are lined up single file on the track. Spectators also line the infield fence and others are further back in the infield. Stands of trees and portions of mountains are in the distance. At the lower left margin is the ink inscription, "Sun April 10, 1921. Los Angeles." With two small margin tears, a creased corner, and some slight soiling, the overall condition is fair.
