A label for a can of Sphinx brand asparagus, ca. 1920s. Created for the California Packing Corporation, the label has bands at the top and bottom with alternating red circles and blue diamonds. At the top beneath the band is an area with images of men on camels, pyramids, and two dark blue sphinxes. The sky has sunset-like colors. Beneath this is a dark blue band with the brand name in white letters with red borders and the word "BRAND" in light blue letters. The main panel is a peach-like color with two bunches of asparagus in white and green, under which is the product name in blue letters as well as the product weight in red letters. At left, in a shield with a pharaoh's head at the top and spread wings at the bottom are serving directions on a light blue background. At the center, beneath another pharaoh's head is the company name and location of the main office. There appears to be no wear or damage to the object, which is in good condition.
