Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of what appears to be a spike driving ceremony for a street railroad, possibly that of the Pacific Electric Railway expansion of the line into the Town of Temple, ca. 1924. The photographer stood on the track and here are people on and near the track. At the center is a man in a light-colored suit and Panama hat, possibly George H. Woodruff. Below his right foot, which rests on a rail, is a white arrow pointing to a spike yet to be driven. At the far right there are two men appearing to wear ten-gallon hats. With some light discoloration, dented corners, and minor surface soiling, the condition of the artifact is good. Number-Units: 1
