"Spring St., Los Angeles, Cal.," F. H. Rogers and Company, Los Angeles, ca. 1885. The view is taken from near what is today Second Street looking north on Spring. Commercial structures line the street, which is unpaved, and there are horse-drawn conveyances in operation and parked on the side of the thoroughfare. Tracks for the Spring and Sixth Street Railway run down the center of the road. In the distance at right is the Temple Block and left of center the Arcadia Block. The photographer's stamp is on the side margins and the title is an ink inscription on the reverse. With edge rubbing, small stains, and soiling, the condition is good overall.Lexicon
