Description

"SPRING STREET LOOKING NORTH FROM EIGHTH / LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA" Color: Black; White A real photo postcard, titled "SPRING STREET LOOKING NORTH FROM EIGHTH / LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA," 1920s. The image is taken from the National City Bank Building on the east side of Spring between Eighth and Ninth. Much of Spring to the north is captured, including streetcars, automobiles and pedestrians, as well as some of the buildings along it. These latter include the National City Bank and the Great Republic Life buildings (a sign for the latter is visible at the upper right.) Both of these included Walter P. Temple as an investor when completed in 1924. On the reverse is the word "POST CARD," spaces for a note and address and a box for a stamp. At the center is "THIS IS A REAL PHOTOGRAPH" and at the bottom is "Made in Germany." The postally unused card is in good condition with minor corner rubbing and slight yellowing.
