Description

ST. JOSEPH'S ALTAR SOCIETY AND DELGADO HOME PHOTOS Color: Black; White A strip negative with six exposures of the St. Joseph's Altar Society party and the Delgado home at the Workman Homestead, 1920s. Exposures 1-3 are the same view of the party group posed in the courtyard of La Casa Nueva, with the photographer standing to the southeast, while exposure 6 is the same group taken from the southwest and persons posed slightly differently. Exposures 4 and 5 are of the Delgado home, built by Walter Temple about 1924 at the southern end of the property near San Jose Creek. The structure was a one-story adobe with a flat roof, tile roofing at the edge, and a wood-porch covered portico. Palm trees, shrubs and bushes are in front of the building, which housed a family of employees of the Temple family. As a newly created artifact, the negative strip is in mint condition. Copy of negatives by Paul Spitzzeri. Number-Units: 1
