Description

ST. JOSPEPH'S ALTAR SOCIETY PICNIC IN FRONT OF THE TEPEE, 1928 Color: Black; White A black and white reproduction photograph of the St. Joseph's Church Altar Society picnic in front of the Tepee, 1928. The group of fifteen, wearing traditional Spanish or Mexian costume, is standing on the building's porch. A man and a woman dance on the left while Walter P. Temple, holding a guitar, stands between Maud Bassity who also holds a guitar and Nellie Didier. A young man is sitting on the steps with his hat resting next to him. Three ladies in black are to the right. One stands in front of the building, another stands on the porch, and the third sits on the porch wall. A little girl in white is to their right accompanied by a young woman and a man wearing a vest. A second young lady is to his right. Just behind them on the porch is a young woman in white holding a guitar and standing next to a man believed to be the guitar teacher. The top of the building can be seen above with two palm trees in the background. A paved path is in front of the building and a round-stone planter to the right. With little signs of wear, the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
