Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of St. Nicholas Chapel, ca. 1860s. The Gothic revival brick building is featured at left center with five towers along the side, four along the left, and one on the front right. A guard joins each of the towers on the left and a cross caps the two towers on the front of the building where the roof is peaked in the center. In the center below is the arcade entrance with surrounding cornice. Three semicircular windows can be seen along the left wall seperated by a buttress between each. In the foreground is a brick wall with an entrance to the far right with an iron gate; bushes cover the wall near the entrance and grass can be seen in front of the wall. The chapel was built by William Workman in El Campo Santo but was destroyed by a fire at the turn of the twentieth century. With no signs of wear, the image is in good condition.
