ST. NICHOLAS MAGAZINE BOUND VOLUME, MAY-OCTOBER 1928
Color: Green; Black; White; Yellow
A bound volume of issues of St. Nicholas Magazine from May through October 1928. The ex-library volume has a marbleized paper cover with a green cloth strip at the left edge of the front, the spine, and the right edge of the back. On the spine is the title and the Dewey decimal system library number. The issues are missing their front covers and, if there were any, their tables of contents. Hence, specific contents are lacking, but they generally seem to include fictional works, some poems, drawings, and other items sent by readers, articles concerning a wide range of non-fiction areas, such as geography, foreign lands and cultures, science and technology, and other genres, and others. There are many photographic illustrations, as well as some drawings. A few advertisements are found at the end. An ex-libris stamp from a library is on the inside of the front cover. With cover abrasions, dented corners, soiling, faded printing on the spine and small tears at the edges of the marbleized papers, as well as browning of and stains on pages and a musty smell, the overall condition of the artifact is fair.Lexicon
