Description
Steel framing construction at the Bible Institute of Los Angeles building, early 1920s. The view is taken to show the bridge-like girding built at the top of the structure with lower levels of the building closer to the photographer's level. Large wood poles are placed to shore up the girding. Portions of nearby buildings are at both sides and a crane projects skyward at the upper left and center. A caption at the bottom reads "Bible Institute. Los Angeles. / Security Const. Co." The photo was mounted onto album paper over another photo and was removed to reveal the other image, which is .8 of this accession. With album paper residue on the reverse and some curvature, soiling, and a creased lower left corner, the condition is overall good.
