Description

Color: Silver A sterling silver Madam Morris carving set fork, ca. 1920s. The item has a fleur-de-lis type design at the handle end and another floral design at the opposite end with these joined by dual border lines on the handle. There is an octagonal plate between the handle and the tines, which are slightly curved. Attached to the tines is an attachment for the thumb and forefinger to rest while the utensil is in operation. On one face of the handle are the initials "HNH" and on one side is a maker's mark and the word "STERLING." With some surface grime, tarnish, fading of the marker's mark, and pitting, the overall condition, after deep cleaning by collections staff, is good.
