Description

STICK PIN FOR AL SMITH'S PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDACY, 1928 Color: Blue; Red; White A round stick pin promoting the candidacy of Al Smith for President, 1928. The pin has a photograph of the candidate at the center with three panels ringing the image along the edges. At the top is a white panel with the last name of the candidate in blue block capital letters. At the lower left is a red field and at the lower right is a blue field with the words "FOR PRESIDENT" overlapping each field. These letters are in white block capital letters. The pin, which extends slightly below the lower edge, is connected to the inside reverse by a coil wrapping around the inner edge. Faintly made out in this inner reverse face is a union stamp, but hardly more than the word "UNION" can be made out. Aside from some scratching and tarnishing on the pin, the object is in good condition.
