Description

Color: Brown A copy of a color polaroid photograph of the paint stripping from the vault door from La Casa Nueva's basement, 14 August 1979. Two artisans, Myrna Saxe on the right and Dorothy Nersesian on the left, are on either side of the door, which lies flat on some kind of table, working on the piece. There are a variety of supplies and materials on the table, which is in the Music Room--one of the composers' windows is at the background left. Aside from the window, few details of the room are notable. On the reverse, in black ink, is the inscription "Temple Mansion / Basement vault door / being stripped of over- / paint prior to restor- / ation by DN Graphics / Dorothy Nersesian left / Myrna Saxe, right / photo by archt 8/14/79." Below this, covered by a piece of tape, is the stamp of restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
