Description

A cabinet card of some structures on a ranch and farm, by C. B. Waite, Los Angeles, 1896. The view shows what appears to be a patchwork dwelling, consisting of a small two-gabled cabin with a crude add-on at the right. In the foreground left is part of another structure. To the left of the dwelling is a two-unit outhouse. The site appears to be on a hill overlooking a valley in the distance and there is a barren dirt yard around the buildings. Waite's stamp is on the reverse, but there are no other identifying marks or inscriptions, though the site is likely that in the first item of this accession. With stains, soiling, foxing and mount edge rubbing, the condition is fair.
