Description
A cabinet card photograph, studio portrait of Pedro Antonio Orfila (19 Nov 1890 - 16 June 1981). Photograph taken by Beal, Spring Street, Los Angeles, January 1894. Orfila is three years and two months old in the photograph. The dedication on the reverse is to Maria Antonia Dominguez (1822-1901), Orfila's grandmother. Orfila is shown standing on a stone platform next to a draping lace curtain. He wears a wool coat and matching knee length dress. His hair is in curls and fall at his shoulders. His left hand is behind his back and his right holds a small bouquet. The photograph has moderate acid burn on the reverse, but is in good condition.
