Description

"Sunken Gardens & Art Museum, Los Angeles, Calif.," 1920s. The view, taken from a building at the eastern end of the site, shows the large garden arranged in grids around a central fountain. In the background is the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science and Art. A portion of a building is at the left across a narrow street, on which there are many parked cars. There is also a strip of park space at the right fronting Exposition Boulevard. The garden area is the former racetrack from the old Agricultural Park. On the reverse is a pencil inscription, which is the title of the image and a stamp from the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. With slight curving of the paper and minor soiling, the overall condition is good.
