There is a multi-colored image of two women and a man, who holds a bouquet of flowers, next to a streetside flower stand. Contents include articles on Sacramento homes; the story of the Southern Pacific Railroad's Big Four founders; landscaping "Spanish" homes; Georgian-style furnishings; color in the garden; gardens that yield "usable" items; holly; sweet peas; backup heaters; winter climbing of Mt. Shasta; book reviews; recipes; and other regular features. There are many black-and-white photgraphs, drawings, and other illustrations, as well as advertisements at the front and back.
