Description
SWIMMING POOL AND SLIDE AT THE HOMESTEAD, CA. 1920S
Color: Black; White
A black and white reproduction photograph of the swimming pool and slide at the Homestead, ca. 1920s, taken in 1995. The water in the pool is at the center and at the right. A concrete walkway and a metal pole fence border the pool. At the left is a slide. A ladder with handrails is behind the slide and connects from the water to a platform that leads to the top of the slide. A person appears to stand next to the stairs nearest the water though the blurry quality of the image makes this difficult to discern. Behind the stairs, and at the pool's corner at the center of the back are light poles which are curved at the top. Across the background are many trees. Written in blue pencil on the top right corner of the back is, "Ralph / Carol Temple Collection / May 1995 / Swimming Pool." Contact sheets for the image are items .35-37 with the negatives being items .2.1-.17. The artifact has no visible signs of damage or wear and is therefore in good condition.
