SWIMMING POOL, DINING HALL, AUDITORIUM, AND WATER TOWER, CA. 1920S
Color: Black; White
A black and white reproduction photograph of the swimming pool, Dining Hall, Auditorium, and Water Tower, ca. 1920s, taken in 1995. The swimming pool is at the left of the foreground and appears to be only half-full, as three steps from the inside are exposed at the left corner. Part of the grandstands are also at the left and at the right of this is a row of six dressing rooms. Three more dressing rooms are at the far right. Also at the far right behind the dressing rooms is the Water Tower which has a small balcony at the top of its pavilion roof, screened tank area at the top floor, and an arched window at the top center of the east wall. At the right of this is an area with many bushes and trees, next to which are two automobiles with canvas tops. At the left of the vehicles is the Auditorium which has a pitched roof, an awning-topped doorway flanked by windows at the east wall, and several windows that line the north wall. The Dining Hall at the left of the back also has a pitched roof and awning-topped door at the east wall. Both buildings have antennas on the roofs and are bordered by palms and other trees. Across the background are orchards and farmlands with the Puente Hills behind them. Contact sheets for the image are items .35-37 with the negatives being items .2.1-.17. The artifact has no visible signs of damage or wear and is therefore in good condition.
