Description

"'TAINT SO, HONEY, 'TAINT SO/ THAT'S MY WEAKNESS NOW" Color: Black; Blue; Green; Yellow A 78-rpm recording including "'Taint So, Honey, 'Taint So," written by Green and Stept, and "That's My Weakness Now," written by Robison and performed by Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra, issued by the Columbia label, 1444-D (146316 and 146542), 1928. The label has four horizontal fields with green, black, and yellow colors and a semi-circular field at the bottom in blue. The company logo and trademark information, and phrases describing the recording process are at the top. Below this is the label name. At the center left is a caricature of Whiteman and his band's name. Below the name is the description "Fox Trot Vocal Refrain" on side A and the same with ". . . by Rhythm Boys" on side B, this latter including vocalist Bing Crosby. Famed cornetist Bix Beiderbecke also played on this record. Under the caricature and band name is the song title, the musical from which it came, its Spanish-language title, the songwriters' last names, and the identification numbers. At the bottom are patent dates and the name and city of business for the company. With some scratches on the record and grime and abrasions on the label, the artifact is in good condition.
