A stereoscopic photograph of the area around the Temple Block, Los Angeles, by Francis Parker, ca. 1877. The image is taken from north of the section on the east side of Main Street with the three-story section of the Temple Block at the intersection of Main, Spring, and Temple streets at the center and portions of other buildings, including the Downey Block at right, slightly visible. On the strees are some horse-drawn conveyances, including the Spring and Sixth Street Railway car at the left. The name "Mrs. R. D. Lowry" is at the upper left of the reverse. With some soiling, stains, and foxing on the image, and edge rubbing, stains and soiling on the reverse, and general wear, the condition is still fair.Lexicon
