TEMPLE FAMILY AND LORETTA DUARTE NEAR CAR AT THE HOMESTEAD
Color: Black; White
A black and white reproduction photograph of the Temple family and Loretta Duarte near the reservoir/swimming pool, ca. 1924. This image is a copy-stand made photograph of the original on a neutral background. The group is posed in or outside of a large black touring car, with Walter, Jr. at left posed near the window, wearing a light-colored shirt and a cap. Edgar is on the far side within the car and can only be seen in shadow [this differs from the identification on the back.] Walter, Sr. stands with his hand on the rear passenger door and his left leg on the running board. He wears a light-colored jacket and trousers, dark vest, white shirt and light-colored tie and light-colored cap. Seated on the running board are Thomas, wearing a dark-colored sweater; light-colored pants; dark shoes; white shirt and, possibly a tie, while he has a pipe in his mouth. He holds a dark-colored hat with band in his right hand on his left knee. Agnes wears a white sweater, light-colored tie, trousers and hose, and dark shoes. Loretta Duarte, a second-cousin (granddaughter of Walter Sr.'s sister, Margarita Rowland) has on light-colored clothing, except for a white blouse and dark tie and dark shoes. Both girls have their legs crossed. Behind and to the right are the dressing rooms for the swimming pool and, to the left, part of the Workman House backyard. Identification in back, in pencil, also indicated this was taken at the north end of the pool, which is incorrect--this is at the south end. In good condition, the artifact shows no discernible wear or damage.
