Description

Color: Black and white A black and white photograph of the Temple and Bancroft families in Massachusetts, summer 1926. The group of 12 persons is shown standing in a yard, in which a pipe fence is seen behind them, as well as some trees and bushes and steps. Among the Temple family is Edgar at the far left; Thomas kneeling in the front center; Walter P., Sr. at the back with Agnes next to him and Walter P.,. Jr. at the far right. Maud Bassity is at the rear center. The other family is assumed to be that of Edward Bancroft, son of Walter, Sr.'s first cousin, Ellen Temple Bancroft. Bancroft's wife and four children are probably the others in the image. The location is probably the Bancroft residence at Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, where the Temples visited on their trip to the east in the summer of 1926. On the reverse is stamped in dark ink "970." Aside from some light discoloration, the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
