TEMPLE FAMILY WITH MAJOR L. F. LEWIS IN LA CASA NUEVA COURTYARD
Color: Black; White
A photograph of Walter P. and Walter P. Temple, Jr. and Agnes Temple Fatjo with Major L. F. Lewis in the courtyard of La Casa Nueva, ca. 1932. The group stands on the flagstone walkway at the end of the portico between the fountain, a sliver of which is at the lower left and the kitchen wings of the house, at right. Walter Jr. is at the left in a dark suit, white shirt, and dark tie. Agnes is next to him and wears a dark dress, matching beret, a lighter multi-colored scarf and holds dark gloves in her hands. Walter Temple is third from left in a black suit, light vest, white shirt, and light tie. Major Lewis, as headmaster of Raenford (later Golden State) Military Academy, is in his uniform. A shadow in the foreground is of a man wearing a hat, possibly Thomas W. Temple, who may have taken the photograph. The photograph has a crinkled edge and there is a rectangular piece at the top with two holes for mounting into a special paper album, which is item 49.2. In good condition overall, the item has only minor reverse discoloration and paper bowing.
