Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the Tepee and the south side of the Mission Walkway, ca. 1920s. The Tepee is at the left and it has three branches at the center of the top, a chimney at the right of the top, and a window at the bottom. The walkway is behind the structure and to the right. Ceramic shingles line the top of the walkway which also has a trellis at the top through which is seen some of the wall's arches. At the right in front of the walkway is part of the west lawn and garden. Here is a round planter, several trees, and five palms, including one at the middle which towers over the rest. Across the background a hazy valley, with some structures scattered throughout, and hills. At the left of the foreground is part of La Casa Nueva's West Wing patio, from which the photo was taken. At the bottom right corner of the back is the number, "10." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With only some yellowing of the paper, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
