Description

TEPEE RESTORATION, FRONT PORCH WALL BEFORE REPLASTERING Color: Blue; Brown; White A color polaroid photograph of the front porch wall of the Tepee before replastering in the restoration of the structure, 26 January 1979. The wall curves across the center of the structure and most of the bricks are stripped of their plaster before the new layer is to be applied. It does appear, however, that the top row of bricks is either unstripped or that some work was already begun. At right is a section of the Tepee including a part of the triptych window on the east side. There is scaffolding around the structure and it appears that the windows are stripped of paint and that the exterior of the building awaits replastering, as well. On the upper part of the reverse is an ink inscription by Girvigian reading "Teepee Porch wall / Before plas. - orig. showing / circular brick blocks / taken Jan 26 1979 / By R Girvigian." Below this is a stamp with Girvigian's name, business address and telephone number. There does not appear to be, aside from a little surface soiling on the reverse, any wear or damage to the object, which is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
