Description

Color: Blue; Green; White A color polaroid photograph of the exterior of the Tepee, including the front porch, under restoration taken July 1979 by restoration architect Raymond Girvigian. Standing to the east, the photographer captured a view of the entire structure, with the final plastering completed and the windows and door appearing to have been finished and with a new coat of light blue paint. The focus is the front porch, where the half-round adobes appear to be stripped and readied for a new coat of cement-based plaster. In front of the wall, in the foreground, stakes in the ground indicate restoration work of the historic walkway, as well. Around the building is some of the landscaping, including a portion of the carob tree at upper left; the grape vines at lower left background; and parts of the sycamore and palm trees at right. On the reverse is an ink inscription by Girvigian reading "Teepee porch- / east view- / photo by archt July 1979." Below this is a stamp with Girvigian's name, business address and telephone number, covered over by a piece of scotch tape. There is little or no indication of wear or damage, so the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
