Description

THANK YOU CARD FROM WALTER P. TEMPLE, MAGGIE ROWLAND, AND MANUEL ZUNIGA, 1928 Color: White, black, blue A thank-you card issued by Walter P. Temple, Margarita A. Rowland, and Manuel M. Zuniga, 1928. Printed on a simple card stock, the card is printed in black ink and the message reads: "Your kind expressions of sympathy/ are gratefully acknowledged/ and deeply appreciated." Written in blue ink by the same hand, probably that of walter temple, at the bottom of the card is "Walter P. Temple / Maggie A. Rowland / Manuel M. Zuniga." The envelope is in plain white with no writing or identifying features of any kind. The card was sent to the recipient after the death of Lucinda A. Temple Zuniga, sister of the former two and wife of the latter, who died 16 January 1928. All four of these persons lived at the Workman Homestead at the time Lucinda was buried in the family mausoleum on the grounds. Manuel Zuniga died a few months later in June. With evidence of water damage; faded ink on the signatures, surface soiling; and discoloration, the card and envelope are in fair condition.
