Entry/Object ID

Description
A real photo postcard of the Alhambra, California float at the Tournament of Roses, Pasadena, 1907. The photographer stood opposite the float, which was on the side of a residential street thronged with observers. The float, drawn by a team of four white horses, has a panoramic panel on one side, above which is the city name. A half-dozen women in white dresses sit on two levels flanking the panel. In the background are structures, including residences and what appears to be a church. At the left margin are ink and pencil inscriptions reading "Tournament / of / Roses / Pasadena / 1907." The postally unused card has some soiling and edge rubbing, but is in good overall condition.
