"The Better City," by Dana W. Bartlett (Los Angeles: The Neuner Company Press,) 1907. The work is the author's prescriptions for improvement with social issues in Los Angeles and include an overview of the city and sections on civic betterment, women and their role, children, temperance, health, industry and workers, and religion, among others. There are about two dozen illustrations, as well. With bumping, stains, soiling and rubbing to the boards, but a pretty tight and clean text block, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
