Description

Color: Gray; Green "The Bridge of San Luis Rey," by Thornton Wilder (New York: Albert & Charles Boni,) 1927 copyright, twelfth printing of March 1928. The 235-page hardcover novel about an incident with a bridge in 1714 Peru has a gray cover with the title on the front center within a shield, atop which is an image of a series of buildings that hint at a church or some other structure that might reference the period of the novel. The title, author's name, and publisher's name are on the spine. On the inside of the covers is a map of Peru and southern Ecuador. The book has five parts and has ten illustrated plates by Amy Drevenstedt. Tipped in at page 143 is an article written by Wilder about his "training" from T. P.'s Weekly, 23 February 1929, which is item 1.2. With cover abrasions, on the edges and corners; a small stain on the front right; and the upper portion of the title page cut with scissors, the book is in otherwise good condition.
