"The Christmas Books of Mr. M. A. Titmarsh," William Makepeace Thackeray (New York: John B. Alden, Publisher,) 1885. The book, a Library Edition of an 1850s work by the author of "Vanity Fair" and a contemporary of Dickens, is an anthology of five Christmas Stories, the Book of Snobs (from which that word entered the English lexicon), and a selection of Ballads. With edge rubbing, abrasions, and soiling to the boards, but pages clean and the text block tight, the overall condition is good.
