The 431-page item has a light brown leather cover with a short title on a red label and the compiler's last name on a black label on the spine. Contents include a preface by Desty, the federal constitution, an index to the federal constitution, the texts of the 1849, as last amended in 1863, and 1879 California constitutions on facing pages, a separate and singular reprinting of the 1879 document, and an index to this latter. With avid burns on flysheets, adhesive residue on the inside front cover, cover soiling, page darkening and some cover discoloration, fading of spine lettering, flaking of the cover leather, some signs of moisture damage, stains on the cover and on pages from moisture and acid burns, and cover tears, the overall condition is fair.Lexicon
