Description

The First Methodist Church at the corner of Eighth and Hope streets, Los Angeles, ca. 1920s. The view shows the Gothic-style structure with its corner bell tower covering most of the block, as well as portions of nearby commercial buildings. Some cars are parked on the streets, with details like crosswalks, street lights and other elements notable. On the reverse is a pencil inscription of the building and location, a stamp from the Chamber of Commerce's Bureau of Research and Service, which generated the image, and a stamp by Earl V. Lewis Company, which enlarged the photo. With slight curvature and some soiling, the condition is good.
