Description
"The Giant Grapevine at San Gabriel," postmarked 22 March 1909. The color postcard shows an illustration of the grapevine supported by a trellis and dotted with bunches of blue grapes. A man in a blue shirt is seated in front of a green door and across from brown tables and chairs. An inscription on the back side reads: "3-21-09 / and this one of the many things we saw / Miss Rose Youngdale / Sheyenne - N:Dak." When acquired, this postcard was stored in an envelope titled, "Mission Play Post Cards," along with several other postcards (Object IDs: 2022.3.2.15 and 2022.3.2.17-21). The card was published by The Van Ornum Colorprint Company in Los Angeles, California. With minor creases, a minor abrasion, minor acid burns, minor discoloration, and minor edge rubbing, the object is in good condition overall.
