Description

Color: Green "The Herald's History of Los Angeles City," by Charles Dwight Willard (Rev. ed., Los Angeles: Kingsley-Barnes & Neuner Co., Publishers,) 1911. The 365-page (with an appendix) hardcover book has a green cloth cover with a partial title and the author's last name in gold lettering on the spine. There are thirty-three chapters detailing the history of the city from its founding under Spanish rule to 1900, with an eight-page appendix covering the years from 1900 to 1910. There are many black and white photographs as illustrations and an index. With spine and cover corner rubbing, brittleness to the binding, creases on the cover corners, dented corners, soiling on page edges, page yellowing, fading of spine lettering, silverfish damage to the first flysheet, some stains on the bottom page edge and on the cover, tears to the cover fabric and the top and bottom of the spine, and a library number written in ink on the spine, the condition is good overall.
