Description
The John E. and Elizabeth H. Hollenbeck residence, Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The image shows, from Boyle Avenue, the house behind an entrance gate with large pillars, pedestrian access gates with smaller pillars connected to the larger ones, a low rock wall and abundant landscaping. Between the curb and sidewalk are palm and other trees. In the Nineties, after John's death, the residence was transformed by Elizabeth into the Hollenbeck Home for the Aged, now Hollenbeck Palms, a senior residential facility. With some large stains and fading to the image and stains and the lower left corner missing on the matte, the condition is fair.
