Description

The Lone Pine Spillway on the Los Angeles Aqueduct, 13 March 1928. The image shows the spillway with portions of the desert floor and an adjacent hill on either side. The course is low on water and appears to be made of poured concrete. On the reverse is a typed caption taped down and linking the photo to the recent St. Francis Dam disaster. There is also a stamp for the Intertional Newsreel service, a date stamp of 18 March and pencil inscriptions identifying the photo. With soiling, creases, a dogeared corner and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
