Book: "The Long Shadow" by B. M. Bower (New York: G. W. Dillingham Company, 1909). Red fabric hardcover with title and author printed on the front cover and spine in black. The front cover also has an illustration of a cowboy standing next to his horse looking at a woman in the distance. The 320 page text is a fictional story with a western theme. One color frontispiece illustration by Clarence Rowe. Paper has yellowed and there are acid burns on front endpapers and title page. There are abrasions at top and bottom of spine, and at the corners. Pages are separating along the spine between the frontispiece and the title page.
