"The Mentor," November 1928 issue. The periodical has a gold leaf-and-vine design within a blue-colored background border and the words "SCIENCE;" "TRAVEL;" "ART;" "HISTORY;" "LITERATURE" in scrolls placed within these designs. These subjects are those covered by articles found within the publication. Within the border is the periodical title, cost per copy, and date and year of publication. An image, in blue and gold, of a Roman ruin in France, consisting of an archway, and two tourists standing nearby next to a car, takes up much of the cover. At the bottom are the words "OLD TOWNS OF SOUTHERN FRANCE / HIGHSPOTS OF SCENIC BEAUTY - Fully Illustrated." Articles largely concern these French tourist spots, as well as some in Switzerland's Alps, as well as short biographical articles about famous French figures, such as Napoleon; Maurice, Comte de Saxe; Catherine de Medici; and King Henry of Navarre. There are many black and white photographs and other illustrations, as well as many advertisements. In fair condition, there are cover creases, soiling, tears, and some stains; mustiness; discoloration to some pages; and losses on the spine.Lexicon
