The book's title, subtitle and note that the book was "WRITTEN IN PLAIN ENGLISH," is just below the airplane at the center. The work contains nine chapters on airfoils, life and drag; control; inherent stability; airplane design and construction; slotted wings; weather and aviation; safety in aviation; pilot lessons; and a conclusion with suggestions. There is also an introduction and nomenclature and popular terms. Illustrations include photographs and technical drawings by Douglas Rolfe. In fair condition, the artifact has cover abrasions at the corners and spine, creases at the corners, soiling, especially on the back cover, and page edge discoloration.Lexicon
