Description
THE MONOPLANE "GUATEMALA" AT SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
Color: Black; White
A photograph of the monoplane "Guatemala" at an airport in Santa Ana, California, May 25, 1929. The image shows the plane on the landing field with persons huddled into groups at both wing ends. In the background are some buildings and, at the far right, a tower. On the reverse is a pasted on credit sheet from the Associated Press and a description of the photograph, noting that it was taken for a record passenger flight to Guatemala. The date is also on this sheet. Below that is a stamped credit instruction to newspaper editors and the month and year. With light corner rubbing, adhesive from a removed label on the back, and some yellowing to the paper, the condition is good.
