Description

"The Musgrove Ranch: A Tale of Southern California," by T. M. Browne (London: The Religious Tract Society,) 1890. The work concerns the religious awakening of the Musgrove family, owners of a ranch in Caliente, Hermosa Valley, which, although it is identified as in Southern California is also near the Sierra Nevada Mountains and characters speak of readily traveling to San Francisco, attesting to the lack of knowledge of the state by the British writer. There are some illustrations, as well. With much foxing, broken hinges, hevily soiled and worn boards and other wear, the condition is fair.
