The work is a general review of the state during Brace's visit and includes a chapter on a visit to Los Angeles, as well as a relatively tolerant view of the Chinese, among other subjects. The covers have some staining, cover and edge wear, and dented corners, but the pages are tight and clean, so the overall condition is good.
