"The New York Herald," 11 March 1850 morning edition (#5755). In addition to offering national and international news, the paper has much material on news from the gold fields of California, the territorial legislature, reports from Sacramento, an article on progress regarding the U.S.-Mexico border, and an article from the Rancho del Chino, dated 22 December 1849, describing the area and coming of wagon trains and gold miners from Salt Lake City.
